Depart Denver for Berlin

Arrive in Frankfurt at 11:30 AM. Transfer to Berlin via train or plane. Check into hotel and take a stroll around Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market for your first introduction to one of Berlin’s classic Christmas markets. Don’t forget to grab dinner at the market or grab something easy at the hotel.

To fight off jet lag, spend the morning visiting Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Market. In the afternoon head to Kurfurstendamm for the beautiful lights.
Dec 4
Enjoy a leisurely morning or spend some time checking out the historical sites (Jewish Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall Memorial) If you didn’t make it to Kurfurstendamm yesterday, head there for the beautiful lights.

Take a day trip to Potsdam. Depart in the morning on a 45 minute train to Potsdam. Enjoy Sanssouci Park Winter Walk. Mid day head over to the Dutch Quarter Christmas Market.
Optionally stop by Ceclienhof Palace before heading back to Berlin on the train.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Berlin or take the morning to check out any remaining sites you might have missed before taking a train to Dresden (2 hours). After checking into your hotel, check out Striezelmarkt, the oldest Christmas Market in Germany. Don’t forget to check out the Altmarkt pyramid and candle arches

Enjoy a leisurely morning before making your way to Striezelmarkt to see the market in the day time. Arriving when the market opens (between 10 and 11 am) offers you less crowds. In the afternoon, make your way to Stallhof, a medival Christmas Market near the river. Stop on the way for lunch if you didn’t indulge at Striezelmarkt or if you want some time to warm up inside.

Take a day trip to Meissen, a small charming/festive market town known for its porcelain manufacturing. Meissen has a charming old town with an authentic Christmas Market.

If weather permits, take a day trip to Saxon Switzerland National Park. Check out the incredible winter landscapes, sandstone cliffs and forests for an escape from the Christmas magic into nature

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Dresden or check out the Frauenkirche Church or Zwinger Palace Complex. Mid day depart on your 2 hour train ride to Prague. After checking into your hotel, take a walk to explore Old Town, ending at the Old Town Square Christmas Market. Enjoy the choirs, lights and mulled wine. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the market or find a quient local spot nearby before returning to your hotel.

Make your way to the Charles Bridge in the morning. This typically helps avoid some of the crowds. Continue on to the Lesser Town Square Market where you will find it less crowded than the famous Old Town Square Market. Once you have had your fill of Christmas markets, consider checking out the Lennon Wall nearby or the Castle Complex. Make your way back to the Charles Bridge 1 hour before sunset for incredible views and pictures of the city. Consider attending a classical Christmas concert before turning in for the night.
